In an ever-changing healthcare environment, an increasing amount of nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), and clinical nurse specialists (CNSs), collectively referred to as APPs, are assuming leadership roles both on clinical teams and in organizations. However, few have been formally prepared through leadership training for the new and expanded responsibilities that come with these positions. As a result, many APPs are challenged by tasks such as building teams, developing talent, managing change, transforming care, communicating effectively, building a business case, and managing relationships and partnerships. During this webcast, Tara A. Collins, ACNP, CRNP, and Ryan M. O'Gowan, MBA, PA-C, FCCM, will introduce some foundational leadership principles and discuss leadership styles, strategies, and competencies.
