The use of valid and reliable bedside assessment tools to measure Pain, Agitation and Delirium (PAD) in ICU patients leads to better recognition and management of these important issues. The ICU Liberation Campaign is a quality improvement initiative that focuses on implementation of the Society of Critical Care Medicine's PAD guidelines using the newly modified ABCDEF bundle. The goal is to create lean, sustainable and highly functioning multiprofessional teams that partner with patients and their families to create a safe and comfortable ICU environment.
The Self-Directed ICU Liberation Performance Improvement online training course provides a relaxed experience to learn at your own pace from the comfort and convenience of your home or office. The goals of this course are to review the updated ABCDEF bundle, to identify any inconsistent application of the bundle and to apply educational interventions for process improvement.
Participants will employ a template to assess sample patient data and identify areas for improvement. The course also uses tests to evaluate weaknesses and identify opportunities for bundle implementation to improve patient care.
Physicians and nurses are eligible to receive 7 hours of continuing education credit. Self-Directed ICU Liberation Performance Improvement includes eight interactive learning modules.
