Maximize APP Onboarding and Competency On Demand

Bringing new APPs, including nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), and clinical nurse specialists (CNSs), onboard is a daunting task. Inconsistencies in training processes influence the development of acquired knowledge, skill sets, and professional interaction. Programs that enhance employee satisfaction can minimize attrition and can result in improved patient satisfaction, patient safety, and quality outcomes.

During this session, Vishal Bakshi, PA-C, Chief APP Intensivist of Emory Healthcare, and Deborah E. Stein, ACNP-BC, CCRN, Clinical Program Director, NP Fellowship, of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, will focus on advanced practice provider (APP) onboarding strategies and maximizing competencies.

Videos containing the slide presentations and synchronized speaker audio from every session of the live webcast are provided in a searchable format. Once you have purchased Processes that Maximize Advanced Practice Provider Onboarding and Competencies On Demand, you can access it as often as you like by logging into http://my.sccm.org.

Models of Translational Research in Critical Care On Demand

Research studies in critically ill populations pose may unique ethical challenges that have implications for study design and execution. The life-threatening nature of conditions being studied and urgency of rapid treatment initiation can make it difficult to obtain informed consent for patient enrollment and high illness severity may also affect judgements to enroll patients into clinical trials which can decrease study feasibility, introduce selection bias, and reduce the generalizability of study findings. The complexity of these issues increases in the setting of multi-center studies, where local practice and regulatory requirements at each institution involved must be incorporated into research protocols. This on demand webinar provides an overview of these issues and highlight key best practices. This on demand webcast is brought to you by Discovery, the Critical care Research Network in collaboration with the Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology (CPP) Section.
